while others dislike them being extra commits, let's clean them up once and
for all for the existing code. If it's ugly, let it only be ugly once :-)

rodata.pci_driver" warnings are coming from? We were packing those
structures into a read-only segment, but forgot to mark them const.
Despite its size, this is a fairly trivial patch created by a simple
search/replace
