e74b0b6a5e console: Remove asmlinkage from console_init
We never call console_init from asm, so we don't need the asmlinkage.
This allows us to remove the arch/cpu.h include since we only needed it
for the asmlinkage #define.

470ca5714f Move post_codes.h to commonlib/console/
Move post_codes.h from include/console to
commonlib/include/commonlib/console.

This is because post_codes.h is needed by code from util/
(util/ code in different commit).

Also, it sorts the #include statements in the files that were
modified.

The indirection seems unnecessary. The macros throw features like

21a4053fde rules.h: Rename ENV_VERSTAGE to ENV_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE
When CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n, all verstage code gets linked into the
appropriate calling stage (bootblock or romstage). This means that
ENV_VERSTAGE is actually 0, and instead ENV_BOOTBLOCK or ENV_ROMSTAGE
are 1. This keeps tripping up people who are just trying to write a
simple "are we in verstage (i.e. wherever the vboot init logic runs)"
check, e.g. for TPM init functions which may run in "verstage" or
ramstage depending on whether vboot is enabled. Those checks will not
work as intended for CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE=n.

This patch renames ENV_VERSTAGE to ENV_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE to try to
clarify that this macro can really only be used to check whether code is
running in a *separate* verstage, and clue people in that they may need
to cover the linked-in verstage case as well.

f3f36faf35 src (minus soc and mainboard): Remove copyright notices
They're listed in AUTHORS and often incorrect anyway, for example:
- What's a "Copyright $year-present"?
- Which incarnation of Google (Inc, LLC, ...) is the current
  copyright holder?
- People sometimes have their editor auto-add themselves to files even
  though they only deleted stuff
- Or they let the editor automatically update the copyright year,
  because why not?
- Who is the copyright holder "The coreboot project Authors"?
- Or "Generated Code"?

Sidestep all these issues by simply not putting these notices in
individual files, let's list all copyright holders in AUTHORS instead
and use the git history to deal with the rest.

deb99af8a1 console: Allow using vprintk() with disabled console
The prototype of vprintk() is currently declared unconditionally, which
prevents it from being used in situations where the console is disabled.
The code will compile correctly, but not link, since the definition in
console.c isn't being provided. This adds a shim around the declaration
so that, like printk(), a call to vprintk() in this situation will expand
to a no-op function instead.

913437e8a2 console: Make die() and friends variadic
die() currently only accepts a fixed message string, which is rather
inconvenient when there is extra information that would be helpful to
print in the error message. This currently requires an extra call to
printk(), which is somewhat awkward:

    printk(BIOS_EMERG, "Bad table, opcode %d at %d", id, i);
die("");	// what do I say here?

die() already has a printk() inside it to print the error message, so
let's just make it variadic to combine the two.

    die("Bad table, opcode %d at %d", id, i);	// much better

Forwarding variadic arguments from one function to another is rather
tricky, so die_with_post_code() is redefined as a variadic macro
instead.

7f8afe0631 arch/x86: introduce postcar stage/phase
Certain chipsets don't have a memory-mapped boot media
so their code execution for stages prior to DRAM initialization
is backed by SRAM or cache-as-ram. The postcar stage/phase
handles the cache-as-ram situation where in order to tear down
cache-as-ram one needs to be executing out of a backing
store that isn't transient. By current definition, cache-as-ram
is volatile and tearing it down leads to its contents disappearing.
Therefore provide a shim layer, postcar, that's loaded into
memory and executed which does 2 things:

1. Tears down cache-as-ram with a chipset helper function.
2. Loads and runs ramstage.

Because those 2 things are executed out of ram there's no issue
of the code's backing store while executing the code that
tears down cache-as-ram. The current implementation makes no
assumption regarding cacheability of the DRAM itself. If the
chipset code wishes to cache DRAM for loading of the postcar
stage/phase then it's also up to the chipset to handle any
coherency issues pertaining to cache-as-ram destruction.

dc9f5cd546 coreboot: introduce commonlib
Instead of reaching into src/include and re-writing code
allow for cleaner code sharing within coreboot and its

for the utilities to provide a printk() declaration within

can than be mapped properly to verbosity of utility parameters.

b890a1228d Remove address from GPLv2 headers
As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to
shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons
but because there are tools that look for them, and giving
them a standard pattern simplifies things.

However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update
every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a
new lease, but can drop the address instead.

util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that
we may want to synchronize every now and then.

90f6cd3567 Add console wrapper for UART driver
Coreboot is designed to have a single serial console at most, on top
of that it may have a CBMEM (virtual) console. Matters are complicated
by the fact that console interface is different between bootblock and
later stages.

A linker list of console driver descriptors is used to allow to
determine the set and type of console drivers at compile time. Even
though the upstream seems to have done away with this approach, which
does not seem the best idea.

As an alternative this patch introduces a common wrapper which
different UART drivers can plug in into. The driver exports a single
API which can be used both directly (in bootblock) and through the
wrapper (in later stages).

The existing drivers can be adjusted to fit this scheme one by one.
The common UART driver API also aligns fine with the upstream
approach.
