Duncan Laurie ec00968f08 device: i2c: Add support for I2C bus operations
In order to support doing bus operations on an I2C device that is
described in the devicetree there needs to be some linkage of the
device and the existing opaque I2C controller bus number.

This is provided in a similar fashion to the existing SMBUS operations
but modified to fit within the existing I2C infrastructure.

Variants of the existing I2C helper functions are provided that will
obtain the bus number that corresponds to this device by looking for
the SOC-provided I2C bus operation structure to provide a function
that will make that translation.

For example an SOC using a PCI I2C controller at 0:15.0 could use:

soc/intel/.../i2c.c:
  static int i2c_dev_to_bus(struct device *dev)
  {
    if (dev->path.pci.devfn == PCI_DEVFN(0x15, 0))
      return 0;
    return -1;
  }
  static struct i2c_bus_operation i2c_bus_ops = {
    .dev_to_bus = &i2c_dev_to_bus
  }
  static struct device_operations i2c_dev_ops = {
    .ops_i2c_bus = &i2c_bus_ops
    ...
  }

With an I2C device on that bus at address 0x1a described in the tree:

devicetree.cb:
  device pci 15.0 on # I2C0
    chip drivers/i2c/sample
      device i2c 1a.0 on end
    end
  end

That driver can then do I2C transactions with the device object
without needing to know that the SOC-specific bus number that this
I2C device lives on is "0".

For example it could read a version value from register address 0
with a byte transaction:

drivers/i2c/sample/sample.c:
  static void i2c_sample_enable(struct device *dev)
  {
    uint8_t ver;
    if (!i2c_dev_readb(dev, 0x00, &ver))
      printk(BIOS_INFO, "I2C %s version 0x02x\n", dev_path(dev), ver);
  }

Duncan Laurie 1010b4aeac acpi_device: Add support for writing ACPI I2C descriptors
Add required definitions to describe an ACPI I2C bus and a method to
write the I2cSerialBus() descriptor to the SSDT.

This will be used by device drivers to describe their I2C resources to
the OS. The devicetree i2c device can supply the address and 7 or 10
bit mode as well as indicate the GPIO controller device, and the bus
speed can be fixed or configured by the driver.

chip.h:
  struct drivers_i2c_generic_config {
    enum i2c_speed bus_speed;
  };

generic.c:
  void acpi_fill_ssdt_generator(struct device *dev) {
    struct drivers_i2c_generic_config *config = dev->chip_info;
    struct acpi_i2c i2c = {
      .address = dev->path->i2c.device,
      .mode_10bit = dev->path.i2c.mode_10bit,
      .speed = config->bus_speed ? : I2C_SPEED_FAST,
      .resource = acpi_device_path(dev->bus->dev)
    };
    ...
    acpi_device_write_i2c(&i2c);
    ...
  }

devicetree.cb:
  device pci 15.0 on

Duncan Laurie d9af3cecae device: Add an ACPI device name and path concept to devices
Add a function to "struct device_operations" to return the ACPI name
for the device, and helper functions to find this name (either from
the device or its parent) and to build a fully qualified ACPI path
from the root device.

This addition will allow device drivers to generate their ACPI AML in
the SSDT at boot, with customization supplied by devicetree.cb,
instead of needing custom DSDT ASL for every mainboard.

The root device acpi_name is defined as "\\_SB" and is used to start
the path when building a fully qualified name.

This requires SOC support to provide handlers for returning the ACPI
name for devices that it owns, and those names must match the objects
declared in the DSDT. The handler can be done either in each device
driver or with a global handler for the entire SOC.

Simplified example of how this can be used for an i2c device declared
in devicetree.cb with:

  chip soc/intel/skylake          # "\_SB" (from root device)
    device domain 0 on            # "PCI0"
      device pci 19.2 on          # "I2C4"
        chip drivers/i2c/test0
          device i2c 1a.0 on end  # "TST0"
        end
      end
    end
  end

And basic SSDT generating code in the device driver:

  acpigen_write_scope(acpi_device_scope(dev));
  acpigen_write_device(acpi_device_name(dev));
  acpigen_write_string("_HID", "TEST0000");
  acpigen_write_byte("_UID", 0);
  acpigen_pop_len(); /* device */
  acpigen_pop_len(); /* scope */

Will produce this ACPI code:

  Scope (\_SB.PCI0.I2C4) {
    Device (TST0) {
      Name (_HID, "TEST0000")
      Name (_UID, 0)
    }
  }

Duncan Laurie 4650f5baff sconfig: Add a new generic device type
Add support for a basic generic device in the devicetree to bind to a
device that does not have a specific bus, but may need to be described
in tables for the operating system. For instance some chips may have
various GPIO connections that need described but do not fall under any
other device.

In order to support this export the basic 'scan_static_bus()' that can
be used in a device_operations->scan_bus() method to scan for the generic
devices.

It has been possible to get a semi-generic device by using a fake PNP
device, but that isn't really appropriate for many devices.

Also Re-generate the shipped files for sconfig. Use flex 2.6.0 to avoid

This patch adds support for all 15 vendor specific config registers,

Use of scan_static_bus() and tree traversals is somewhat convoluted.
Start cleaning this up by assigning each path type with separate
static scan_bus() function.

For ME, SMBus and LPC paths a bus cannot expose bridges, as those would
add to the number of encountered PCI buses.

Patrick Georgi b890a1228d Remove address from GPLv2 headers
As per discussion with lawyers[tm], it's not a good idea to
shorten the license header too much - not for legal reasons
but because there are tools that look for them, and giving
them a standard pattern simplifies things.

However, we got confirmation that we don't have to update
every file ever added to coreboot whenever the FSF gets a
new lease, but can drop the address instead.

util/kconfig is excluded because that's imported code that
we may want to synchronize every now and then.

Julius Werner 37d7ac8b5b i2c: Add software_i2c driver for I2C debugging and emulation
This patch adds I2C emulation in software through raw toggling of the
SDA/SCL lines. Platforms need to provide bindings to toggle their
respective I2C busses for this to work (e.g. by pinmuxing them as GPIOs,
currently only enabled for Tegra).

This is mostly useful as a debugging feature, to drive unusual states on
a bus and closely monitor the device output without the need of a bus
analyzer. It provides a few functions to "wedge" an I2C bus by aborting
a transaction at certain points, which can be used to test if a system
can correctly recover from an ill-timed reboot. However, it can also
dynamically replace the existing I2C transfer functions and drive
some/all I2C transfers on the system, which might be useful if a driver
for the actual I2C controller hardware is not (yet) available.

Based on original code by Doug Anderson <dianders@chromium.org> and
Hung-ying Tyan <tyanh@chromium.org> for the ChromeOS embedded
controller project.

Gabe Black cdb61a6f5d i2c: Replace the i2c API.
The new API is in use in depthcharge and is based around the "i2c_transfer"
function instead of i2c_read and i2c_write. The new function takes an array of
i2c_seg structures which represent each portion of the transfer after a start
bit and before the stop bit. If there's more than one segment, they're
seperated by repeated starts.

Some wrapper functions have also been added which make certain common
operations easy. These include reading or writing a byte from a register or
reading or writing a blob of raw data. The i2c device drivers generally use
these wrappers but can call the i2c_transfer function directly if the need
something different.

The tegra i2c driver was very similar to the one in depthcharge and was simple
to convert. The Exynos 5250 and 5420 drivers were ported from depthcharge and
replace the ones in coreboot. The Exynos 5420 driver was ported from the high
speed portion of the one in coreboot and was straightforward to port back. The
low speed portion and the Exynos 5250 drivers had been transplanted from U-Boot
and were replaced with the depthcharge implementation.

Edward O'Callaghan c2956e7752 device/pci_early.c: Mixes up variants of a typedefs to 'u32'
Unfortunately coreboot has to deal with ROMCC's short comings which has
lead to a little bit of confusion due to typedefs. Essentially, coreboot
defines four typedefs:

 * 'typedef struct device * device_t' in ramstage not in SIMPLE_DEVICE mode
 * 'typedef u32 device_t' in romstage or when SIMPLE_DEVICE is defined
 * 'typedef u32 pnp_devfn_t'
 * 'typedef u32 pci_devfn_t'

Some early functions make use of 'device_t' over 'pci_devfn_t' and since
the C type-checker does not enforce typedefs to the same type 'u32'
these are never noticed. Fix these so that 'device_t' does not conflict
in romstage for later work. We later plan to have 'pnp_devfn_t' and
'pci_devfn_t' as the only variants of 'u32' and 'device_t' to be a
struct pointer type exclusively.

Mike Loptien 0f5cf5e45b PCI IRQs: Swizzle PCI IRQs for PCI bridges
The PCI Specification states that devices that implement
a bridge and a secondary bus must swizzle (rotate) the
interrupt pins according to the table below:
	Child Dev # Child PIN Parent PIN
	0,4,8,12...     A/B/C/D         A/B/C/D
	1,5,9,13...     A/B/C/D         B/C/D/A
	2,6,10,14..     A/B/C/D         C/D/A/B
	3,7,11,15..     A/B/C/D         D/A/B/C

Which is also described by this equation:
	PIN_parent = (Pin_child + Dev_child) % 4

When a device is found and its bus number is greater than 0,
it is on a bridge and needs to be swizzled. Following the
string of parents up to the root bus and swizzling as we go
gives us the desired swizzling result. When BIOS_SPEW is
defined, it will print out each step of the swizzling process.

Marc Jones 2a58ecde78 Add new finalize functions for devices and chips
Many chipset devices require additional configuration after
device init. It is not uncommmon for a device early in the devicetree
list to need to change a setting after a device later in the tree does
PCI init. A final function call has been added to device ops to handle
this case. It is called prior to coreboot table setup.

Another problem that is often seen is that the chipset or mainboard
need to do some final cleanup just before loading the OS. The chip
finalize has been added for this case. It is call after all coreboot
tables are setup and the payload is ready to be called.

Similar functionality could be implemented with the hardwaremain

Nico Huber dd4715b6a5 pnp: Implement common handling for PnP config modes
Many super i/o chips only answer to PnP requests if they are in a
configuration state (sometimes also called ext func mode). To cope with
that, the code of many chips implements its own version of our default

To avoid this code duplication, this patch extends our PnP device

It's arguable, if enabling those devices makes sense, before they get

who knows? The least we can do is providing a common implementation for
this behavior, and get rid of some code duplication.

David Hendricks b959fbb87a exynos5: Re-factor I2C code
This re-factors the Exynos5 I2C code to be simpler and use the
new API, and updates users accordingly.

- i2c_read() and i2c_write() functions updated to take bus number
  as an argument.

- Get rid of the EEPROM_ADDR_OVERFLOW stuff in i2c_read() and
  i2c_write(). If a chip needs special handling we should take care
  of it elsewhere, not in every low-level i2c driver.

- All the confusing bus config functions eliminated. No more
  i2c_set_early_config() or i2c_set_bus() or i2c_get_bus(). All this
  is handled automatically when the caller does a transaction and
  specifies the desired bus number.

- i2c_probe() eliminated. We're not a command-line utility.

- Let the compiler place static variables automatically. We don't need
  any of this fancy manual data placement.

- Remove dead code while we're at it. This stuff was ported early on
  and much of it was left commented out in case we needed it. Some
  also includes nested macros which caused gcc to complain.

- Clean up #includes (no more common.h, woohoo!), replace debug() with
  printk().

David Hendricks cfb73607be replace device/i2c.h with simpler version
The existing header was imported along with the Exynos code and left
mostly unchanged. This is the first patch in a series intended to
replace the imported u-boot I2C API with a much simpler and cleaner
interface:

- We only need to expose i2c_read() and i2c_write() in our public API.
  Everything else is board/chip-dependent and should remain hidden
  away.

- i2c_read and i2c_write functions will take bus number as an arg
  and we'll eliminate i2c_get_bus and i2c_set_bus. Those are prone to
  error and end up cluttering the code since the user needs to save
  the old bus number, set the new one, do the read/write, and restore
  the old value (3 added steps to do a simple transaction).

- Stop setting default values for board-specific things like SPD
  and RTC bus numbers (as if we always have an SPD or RTC on I2C).

- Death to all the trivial inline wrappers. And in case there was any
  doubt, we really don't care about the MPC8xx. Though if we did then
  we would not pollute the public API with its idiosyncrasies.
