Aaron Durbin 4677f6bbfa lib/bootmem: tightly couple bootmem_init to bootmem_write_memory_table
In https://review.coreboot.org/25383 people were confused about the
ordering of bootmem calls w.r.t. when entries are exposed to the OS. To
alleviate this add a notion of bootmem being initialized. In addition to
that, only mark bootmem initialized when bootmem_write_memory_table() is
called. Any other calls to bootmem before that will report an error on
the console.

Raul E Rangel 99f54a60bf include/memory_info.h: Change serial number field from 5 bytes to 4
dimm_info.serial had a strange contract. The SPD spec defines a 4 byte
serial number. dimm_info.serial required a 4 character ascii string with
a null terminator.

This change makes the serial field so it matches the SPD spec.
smbios.c will then translate the byte array into hex and set it on the
smbios table.

There were only two callers that set the serial number:
* haswell/raminit.c: already does a memcpy(serial, spd->serial, 4), so
  it already matches the new contract.
* amd_late_init.c: Previously copied the last 4 characters. Requires
  decoding the serial number into a byte array.

google/cyan/spd/spd.c: This could be updated to pass the serial number,
but it uses a hard coded spd.bin.

Testing this on grunt, dmidecode now shows the full serial number:
        Serial Number: 00000000

Julius Werner 4783db2cf1 spi: Add helper functions for bit-banging
Sometimes when bringing up a new board it can take a while until you
have all the peripheral drivers ready. For those cases it is nice to be
able to bitbang certain protocols so that you can already get further in
the boot flow while those drivers are still being worked on. We already
have this support for I2C, but it would be nice to have something for
SPI as well, since without SPI you're not going to boot very far.

This patch adds a couple of helper functions that platforms can use to
implement bit-banging SPI with minimal effort. It also adds a proof of
concept implementation using the RK3399.

Marshall Dawson c0dbedac43 x86/mtrr: Enable Rd/WrDram mod in AMD fixed MTRRs
AMD's fixed MTRRs have RdDram and WrDram bits that route memory
accesses to DRAM vs. MMIO. These are typically hidden for normal
operation by clearing SYS_CFG[19] (MtrrFixDramModEn). According to
BKDGs and AMD64 Programmer's Manual vol 2, this bit is clear at
reset, should be set for configuration during POST, then cleared for
normal operation.

Attempting to modify the RdDram and WrDram settings without unhiding
them causes a General Protection Fault. Add functions to enable and
disable MtrrFixDramModEn. Unhide/hide as necessary when copying or
writing the fixed MTRRs.

Finally, modify sipi_vector.S to enable the bits prior to writing
the fixed MTRRs and disable when complete.

This functionality is compiled out on non-AMD platforms.

Patrick Georgi 9adcbfe486 device/pciexp_device: Set values numerically instead of as bitmask
As noted on linux-pci, we have a weird way to handling "value" and
"scale" fields that are supposed to contain numerical values: we encode
them as a bitfield.
Instead define the two fields (offset and mask) and use numbers.

Another issue, not fixed in this CL, is that we write hard-coded values
while these fields really need to contain the max() of acceptable delays
of the downstream devices. That way the controller can decide whether or
not to enter a deeper power management state. It's noted as a TODO.

Julius Werner 96ed92d49d boardid: Add helpers to read sku_id strapping into coreboot tables
On many recent Chrome OS boards, the desire to unite more configurations
under the same image has led to the need of a "SKU ID" that identifies
different configurations of the same board (e.g. with certain optional
components stuffed or not stuffed, or replaced with a comparable
component). This is markedly different from the existing "board ID",
because that is reserved to count "revisions" -- changes made to the
same configuration over time during the development process. This patch
adds support to have a mainboard define this SKU ID and pass it through
the coreboot table like we already have for board IDs.

Merge the different coreboot table strapping ID structures into one
because they're really just all the same, and I want to add more. Make
the signature of the board_id() function return a uint32_t because
that's also what goes in the coreboot table. Add a printk to the generic
code handling strapping IDs in ramstage so that not every individual
mainboard implementation needs its own print. (In turn, remove one such
print from fsp1_1 code because it's in the way of my next patch.)

The BOARD_ID_MANUAL and BOARD_ID_STRING options were introduced for the
Urara board which is now long dead, and have never been used anywhere
else. They were trying to do something that we usually handle with a
separate SKU ID these days, whereas BOARD_ID is supposed to be reserved
for different revisions of the same board/SKU. Get rid of it to make
further refactoring of other options easier.

Also shove some stuff back into the Urara mainboard that should've never
crept into generic headers.

Kyösti Mälkki d07f377872 usbdebug: Fix init and add support for postcar
It was originally designed such that if usbdebug_init() was called
before cbmem_initialize(), it would fetch the already-initialized
state from CBMEM. This changed when cbmem_find() behaviour changed
to require cbmem_initialize() to be called first. As a result,
ramstage had to reinitialize all of the EHCI controller and USB
endpoints on entry. This was slow, specially with AMD hardware
where one can scan USB ports to probe for the debug dongle.

For postcar and ramstage, move usbdebug entry such that it is
triggered from CBMEM_INIT_HOOK instead of console_init().
Side-effect of this is usbdebug console shows 'coreboot-xxx ...
starting...' line only for romstage.

Initialisation for usbdebug is never done in postcar. If you have
USBDEBUG_IN_ROMSTAGE=n, postcar will not have console output on
usb either.

While at it, fix also some other __PRE_RAM__ cases to ENV_ROMSTAGE
and alike.

The original purpose of adjust_cpu_apic_entry() was to set
up an APIC map. That map was effectively only used for mapping
*default* APIC id to CPU number in the SMM handler. The normal
AP startup path didn't need this mapping because it was whoever
won the race got the next cpu number. Instead of statically
calculating (and wrong) just initialize the default APIC id
map when the APs come online. Once the APs are online the SMM
handler is loaded and the mapping is utilized.

This patch adds the common acpi code.ACPI code is very similar
accross different intel chipsets.This patch is an effort to
move those code in common place so that it can be shared accross
different intel platforms instead of duplicating for each platform.
We are removing the common acpi files in src/soc/intel/common.
This removes the acpi.c file which was previously in
src/soc/common/acpi. The config for common acpi is
SOC_INTEL_COMMON_BLOCK_ACPI which can be defined in SOC's
Kconfig file in order to use the common ACPI code. This patch also
includes the changes in APL platform to use the common ACPI block.

TEST= Tested the patch as below:

5.Execute the extracted tables in aciexec to check
  acpi methods are working properly.

The addr32 prefix is required by binutils, because even when
given an explicit address which is greater than 64KiB, it will
throw a warning about truncation, and stupidly emit the opcode
with a 16-bit addressing mode and the wrong address.

However, in the case of LLVM, this doesn't happen, and is happy
to just use 32-bit addressing whenever it may require it. This
means that LLVM never really needs an explicit addr32 prefix to
use 32-bit addressing in 16-bit mode.

Do not use the global platform_i2c_transfer() function that can only be

transfer() function the only interface function for I2C controller dri-
vers to implement.

To not force the slave device drivers to be implemented either above
generic I2C or specialized SMBus operations, we support SMBus control-
lers in the slave device interface too.

We start with four simple slave functions: i2c_readb(), i2c_writeb(),
i2c_readb_at() and i2c_writeb_at(). They are all compatible to respec-
tive SMBus functions. But we keep aliases because it would be weird to
force e.g. an I2C EEPROM driver to call smbus_read_byte().

Nico Huber 029dfff30c i2c: Move to Linux like `struct i2c_msg`
Our current struct for I2C segments `i2c_seg` was close to being compa-
tible to the Linux version `i2c_msg`, close to being compatible to SMBus
and close to being readable (e.g. what was `chip` supposed to mean?) but
turned out to be hard to fix.

Instead of extending it in a backwards compatible way (and not touching
current controller drivers), replace it with a Linux source compatible
`struct i2c_msg` and patch all the drivers and users with Coccinelle.

The new `struct i2c_msg` should ease porting drivers from Linux and help
to write SMBus compatible controller drivers.

Beside integer type changes, the field `read` is replaced with a generic
field `flags` and `chip` is renamed to `slave`.

Patched with Coccinelle using the clumsy spatch below and some manual
changes:

* Nested struct initializers and one field access skipped by Coccinelle.
* Removed assumption in the code that I2C_M_RD is 1.
* In `i2c.h`, changed all occurences of `chip` to `slave`.

Arthur Heymans 16fe79048f sb/intel/*: Use common SMBus functions
All Intel southbridges implement the same SMBus functions.
This patch replaces all these similar and mostly identical
implementations with a common file.

This also makes i2c block read available to all those southbridges.
If the northbridge has to read a lot of SPD bytes sequentially, using
this function can reduce the time being spent to read SPD five-fold.

Julius Werner b8534f767c assert: Add new dead_code() macro to assert dead code paths
This patch adds a new kind of compile-time assertion based on Linux'
compiletime_assert(). The difference to the existing use of
_Static_assert() in coreboot (which should continue to be used where
appropriate) is that this new assertion only hits if the call to it is
not optimized out at compile time. It is therefore ideal to assert that
certain code paths are not included in the image if a certain Kconfig
option is (not) set. For example,

 assert(!IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_THAT_MAKES_THIS_INAPPROPRIATE));

can be rewritten as

 if (!IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_THAT_MAKES_THIS_INAPPROPRIATE))
   dead_code("This code shouldn't be built for config X");

to turn it into a compile-time check.

Julius Werner 01f9aa5e54 Consolidate reset API, add generic reset_prepare mechanism
There are many good reasons why we may want to run some sort of generic
callback before we're executing a reset. Unfortunateley, that is really
hard right now: code that wants to reset simply calls the hard_reset()
function (or one of its ill-differentiated cousins) which is directly
implemented by a myriad of different mainboards, northbridges, SoCs,
etc. More recent x86 SoCs have tried to solve the problem in their own
little corner of soc/intel/common, but it's really something that would
benefit all of coreboot.

This patch expands the concept onto all boards: hard_reset() and friends
get implemented in a generic location where they can run hooks before
calling the platform-specific implementation that is now called
do_hard_reset(). The existing Intel reset_prepare() gets generalized as
soc_reset_prepare() (and other hooks for arch, mainboard, etc. can now
easily be added later if necessary). We will also use this central point
to ensure all platforms flush their cache before reset, which is
generally useful for all cases where we're trying to persist information
in RAM across reboots (like the new persistent CBMEM console does).

Also remove cpu_reset() completely since it's not used anywhere and
doesn't seem very useful compared to the others.

Aaron Durbin d86e0e6638 cpu/x86/mtrr: don't guard function declarations
set_var_mtrr() and get_free_var_mtrr() don't need to be guarded
against various stages. It just complicates code which lives
in a compilation unit that is compiled for multiple stages by
needing to reflect the same guarding. Instead, just drop the
declaration guard. earlymtrr.c is still just compiled for earlier
stages, but if needed it's easy to move to a mtrr_util.c that
is compiled for all stages.

Youness Alaoui c4b4ff3b1f console/flashsconsole: Add spi flash console for debugging
If CONSOLE_SPI_FLASH config is enabled, we write the cbmem
messages to the 'CONSOLE' area in FMAP which allows us to grab the
log when we read the flash.

This is useful when you don't have usb debugging, and
UART lines are hard to find. Since a failure to boot would
require a hardware flasher anyways, we can get the log
at the same time.

This feature should only be used when no alternative is
found and only when we can't boot the system, because
excessive writes to the flash is not recommended.

This has been tested on purism/librem13 v2 and librem 15 v3 which
run Intel Skylake hardware. It has not been tested on other archs
or with a driver other than the fast_spi.

Aaron Durbin e4d7abc0d4 lib: provide clearer devicetree semantics
The devicetree data structures have been available in more than just
ramstage and romstage. In order to provide clearer and consistent
semantics two new macros are provided:

1. DEVTREE_EARLY which is true when !ENV_RAMSTAGE
2. DEVTREE_CONST as a replacment for ROMSTAGE_CONST

The ROMSTAGE_CONST attribute is used in the source code to mark
the devicetree data structures as const in early stages even though
it's not just romstage. Therefore, rename the attribute to
DEVTREE_CONST as that's the actual usage. The only place where the
usage was not devicetree related is console_loglevel, but the same
name was used for consistency. Any stage that is not ramstage has
the const C attribute applied when DEVTREE_CONST is used.

Lee Leahy eef40eb2a9 drivers/storage: Add SD/MMC/eMMC driver based upon depthcharge
The SD/MMC support is broken into several pieces. There are three main
data structures:
* sdhci_ctrlr - This is SDHCI controller specific and defined in
  include/device/sdhci.h
* sd_mmc_ctrlr - This contains generic controller management data and
  defined in include/device/sd_mmc_ctrlr.h
* storage_media - This contains the flash storage device management data
  and is defined in include/device/storage.h

The SD/MMC driver consists of several components:
* SDHCI controller code
  * bouncebuf.c
  * bouncebuf.h
  * pci_sdhci.c
  * sdhci.c
  * sdhci.h
  * sdhci_adma.c
  * sdhci_display.c
* Flash storage device support
  * mmc.c
  * mmc.h
  * sd.c
  * sd_mmc.c
  * sd_mmc.h
  * storage.c
  * storage.h
  * storage_erase.c
  * storage_write.c

Kconfig values enable various portions of the controller and storage
drivers to be built to reduce the overall size of what is included in
the final image.

Full read/write/erase operations are provided for those platforms which
want to take advantage. It is also possible to build the driver to
perform initialization only. By default, this driver is not included in
any platform, platforms must specifically select DRIVERS_STORAGE to add
the SD/MMC support.

After this patch is reviewed and merged, there are some additional
patches:
* Common CAR storage area - Use a predefined region of CAR to pass data
  structures between bootblock through to romstage. This allows early
  stages to preform the SD/MMC device initialization and later stages
  to use the SD/MMC device without further initialization. The example
  code initializes the SD/MMC device in bootblock and uses the SD/MMC
  device in romstage without further initialization.
* CBMEM ID - Add a CBMEM ID value for the data structures so that they
  may be passed from romstage to ramstage and eventually the payload.
  The example uses the SD/MMC device in ramstage without further
  initialization.
* Move the SD/MMC driver into commonlib
* Have libpayload build the SD/MMC driver from commonlib. The intent
  is to pass the controller state to libpayload so that the SD/MMC
  device can be used without further initialization.
* On some platforms, have depthcharge use the commonlib SD/MMC driver

This patch attempts to finish the separation between CONFIG_VBOOT and
CONFIG_CHROMEOS by moving the remaining options and code (including
image generation code for things like FWID and GBB flags, which are
intrinsic to vboot itself) from src/vendorcode/google/chromeos to
src/vboot. Also taking this opportunity to namespace all VBOOT Kconfig
options, and clean up menuconfig visibility for them (i.e. some options
were visible even though they were tied to the hardware while others
were invisible even though it might make sense to change them).

Julius Werner 73d042bd90 vboot: Disallow separate verstage after romstage, try to clarify logic
No board has ever tried to combine CONFIG_SEPARATE_VERSTAGE with
CONFIG_VBOOT_STARTS_IN_ROMSTAGE. There are probably many reasons why
this wouldn't work (e.g. x86 CAR migration logic currently always
assumes verstage code to run pre-migration). It would also not really
make sense: the reason we use separate verstages is to decrease
bootblock size (mitigating the boot speed cost of slow boot ROM SPI
drivers) and to allow the SRAM-saving RETURN_FROM_VERSTAGE trick,
neither of which would apply to the after-romstage case. It is better to
just forbid that case explicitly and give programmers more guarantees
about what the verstage is (e.g. now the assumption that it runs pre-RAM
is always valid).

Since Kconfig dependencies aren't always guaranteed in the face of
'select' statements, also add some explicit compile-time assertions to
the vboot code. We can simplify some of the loader logic which now no
longer needs to provide for the forbidden case. In addition, also try to
make some of the loader logic more readable by writing it in a more
functional style that allows us to put more assertions about which cases
should be unreachable in there, which will hopefully make it more robust
and fail-fast with future changes (e.g. addition of new stages).

Vadim Bendebury 021ec2819b cr50: add unmarshaling of vendor commands and process 'enable_update'
The upcoming Cr50 firmware changes will require the AP to enable the
previously downloaded Cr50 firmware update(s).

A new vendor command (TPM2_CR50_SUB_CMD_TURN_UPDATE_ON) is used for
that. The command accepts one parameter - a timeout value in range of
0 to 1000 ms.

When processing the command the Cr50 checks if the alternative RO or
RW image(s) need to be enabled, and if so - enables them and returns
to the host the number of enabled headers.

If the vendor command requested a non-zero timeout, the Cr50 starts
a timer to trigger system reboot after the requested timeout expires.

The host acts on the number of enabled headers - if the number is
nonzero, the host prepares the device to be reset and waits for the
Cr50 to reboot the device after timeout expires.

This patch also adds more formal vendor command
marshaling/unmarshaling to make future additions easier.

Aaron Durbin eeb77379e0 vboot/tpm2: enable nvmem commits on cr50 when writing firmware secdata
cr50 by default delays nvmem commits internally from the point of
reset to accumulate change state. However, the factory process can
put a board into dev mode through the recovery screen. This state
is stored in the TPM's nvmem space. When the factory process is
complete a disable_dev_request and battery_cutoff_request is performed.
This leads to disabling the dev mode in TPM, but the battery is
subsequently cut off so the nvmem contents never stick. Therefore,
whenever antirollback_write_space_firmware() is called we know there
was a change in secdata so request cr50 to immediately enable nvmem
commits going forward. This allows state changes to happen immediately.

The fallout from this is that when secdata is changed that current
boot will take longer because every transaction that writes to TPM
nvmem space will perform a write synchronously. All subsequent boots
do not have that effect.

It should also be noted that this approach to the implementation is
a pretty severe layering violation. However, the current TPM APIs
don't lend themselves well to extending commands or re-using code
outside of the current routines which inherently assume all knowledge
of every command (in conflict with vendor commands since those are
vendor-specific by definition).

Aaron Durbin f56c7787ba google/chromeos: disable platform hierarchy on resume for TPM2
On Chrome OS devices that use TPM2 parts the platform hierarchy
is disabled by the boot loader, depthcharge. Since the bootloader
isn't involved in resuming a suspended machine there's no equivalent
action in coreboot to disable the platform hierarchy. Therefore, to
ensure consistent state in resume the platform hierarchy in the TPM2

firmware the platform hierarchy is disabled when utilizing
TPM2 devices.

Furquan Shaikh c2973d196d spi: Get rid of SPI_ATOMIC_SEQUENCING
SPI_ATOMIC_SEQUENCING was added to accomodate spi flash controllers with
the ability to perform tx and rx of flash command and response at the
same time. Instead of introducing this notion at SPI flash driver layer,
clean up the interface to SPI used by flash.

Flash uses a command-response kind of communication. Thus, even though
SPI is duplex, flash command needs to be sent out on SPI bus and then
flash response should be received on the bus. Some specialized x86
flash controllers are capable of handling command and response in a
single transaction.

In order to support all the varied cases:
1. Add spi_xfer_vector that takes as input a vector of SPI operations
and calls back into SPI controller driver to process these operations.
2. In order to accomodate flash command-response model, use two vectors
while calling into spi_xfer_vector -- one with dout set to
non-NULL(command) and other with din set to non-NULL(response).
3. For specialized SPI flash controllers combine two successive vectors
if the transactions look like a command-response pair.
4. Provide helper functions for common cases like supporting only 2
vectors at a time, supporting n vectors at a time, default vector
operation to cycle through all SPI op vectors one by one.

that are interdependent between callbacks there's no way to
do that aside from explicitly putting the call in one of the
callbacks.

This situation arises around BS_OS_RESUME, BS_PAYLOAD_LOAD,
and BS_PAYLOAD_BOOT as those are the states where coreboot is
about to exit. As such, provide an architecture specific hook

Andrey Petrov ef9a9ea3b7 soc/intel/common: Add save/restore for variable MRC data
Piggy-back on existing MRC cache infrastructure to store variable MRC data.

Only one set of data can be valid at given point of time. Currently this
magically happens because region alignment is forced to 0x1000 and region
itself is of the same size. This needs to be somehow programmatically
enforced.

Furquan Shaikh d2fb6ae813 spi: Get rid of flash_programmer_probe in spi_slave structure
flash_programmer_probe is a property of the spi flash driver and does
not belong in the spi_slave structure. Thus, make
spi_flash_programmer_probe a callback from the spi_flash_probe
function. Logic still remains the same as before (order matters):
1. Try spi_flash_programmer_probe without force option
2. Try generic flash probing
3. Try spi_flash_programmer_probe with force option

If none of the above steps work, fail probing. Flash controller is
expected to honor force option to decide whether to perform specialized
probing or to defer to generic probing.

Furquan Shaikh dc34fb60b4 spi: Get rid of max_transfer_size parameter in spi_slave structure
max_transfer_size is a property of the SPI controller and not of the spi
slave. Also, this is used only on one SoC currently. There is no need to
handle this at the spi flash layer.

This change moves the handling of max_transfer_size to SoC SPI driver
and gets rid of the max_transfer_size parameter.
