2c63017ca3 soc/intel/braswell: Correct serial IRQ support
Serial IRQ was configured in quiet mode, but not enabled.
Enable serial IRQ and use 'enum seriirq_mode' as a devicetree
option.

Function sc_enable_serial_irqs() is added to enabled serial IRQs.
enable_serirq_quiet_mode() is renamed to
sc_set_serial_irqs_mode(). This function use the 'serirq_mode' to
set the mode. The call to this function is moved from finalize to init
having serial IRQs enable in early stage.

Serial IRQs must be enabled in continuous mode for at least one frame
before switching into quiet mode.

9993b6f0b5 vboot: Select CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_MATTERS in more cases
This patch enables CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_MATTERS in a few more cases where
I think(?) it should be. Haswell, Broadwell and Baytrail Chromebooks
have this enabled in their old depthcharge firmware branches -- we
presumably just forgot to move it over when vboot2 migrated the option
to coreboot. Braswell didn't, but it seems like this requirement was
added when it was migrated to FSP 1.1...? (Not very sure about that one,
but it does call load_vbt() right now which executes things based on
display_init_required().) Additionally, it seems to make sense to enable
it whenever the user explicitly selects VGA_ROM_RUN in menuconfig (like
one of the Intel defconfigs does).

Once we have all this, one could take a step back and ask whether this
option still makes sense at all anymore. It's enabled for almost all
devices (that work with vboot at all), it will presumably be enabled for
all future devices, and it seems that most devices that don't enable it
use libgfxinit, which as far as I can tell isn't gated on
display_init_required() but probably should be. Realistically, whatever
kind of display init a board needs to do (native or option ROM), it's
probably expensive enough that it's worth skipping on a normal mode
vboot boot, and we'd want to have this enabled by default on everything
except boards that actually don't have a display. So maybe we should
flip it around to CONFIG_VBOOT_OPROM_DOESNT_MATTER, but doing that would
probably lead to nobody ever selecting it at all.

Not sure what the best solution there is yet, but I think this patch
at least moves things in the more correct direction.

f5ca922c87 Untangle CBFS microcode updates
The option to specify a binary file name was added later for platforms
that do not provide microcode updates in our blobs repository. Alas,
it wasn't visible what platforms these are. And if you specified a file
for a platform that already had one, they were all included together.

Make it visible which platforms don't provide binaries with the new con-
figs MICROCODE_BLOB_NOT_IN_BLOB_REPO, MICROCODE_BLOB_NOT_HOOKED_UP and
MICROCODE_BLOB_UNDISCLOSED. Based on that we can decide if we want to
include binaries by default or explicitly show that no files are inclu-
ded (default to CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_NONE).

Also split CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_GENERATE into the more explicit
CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_DEFAULT_BINS and CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_EXTERNAL_BINS.
And clean up the visibility of options: Don't show CBFS related options
on platforms that don't support it and don't show external file options
if the platform uses special rules for multiple files (CPU_MICROCODE_
MULTIPLE_FILES).

f9aed65785 cpu/intel/common: decouple IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL lock from set_vmx()
Newer CPUs/SoCs need to configure other features via the
IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL msr, such as SGX, which cannot be done if the
msr is already locked. Create separate functions for setting the
vmx flag and lock bit, and rename existing function to indicate that
the lock bit will be set in addition to vmx flag (per Kconfig).

This will allow Skylake/Kabylake (and others?) to use the common
VMX code without breaking SGX, while ensuring no change in functionality
to existing platforms which current set both together.

Test: build/boot each affected platform, ensure no change in functionality

f677d17ab3 intel: Use CF9 reset (part 2)
Make use of the common CF9 reset in SOC_INTEL_COMMON_RESET. Also
implement board_reset() as a "full reset" (aka. cold reset) as that
is what was used here for hard_reset().

Drop soc_reset_prepare() thereby, as it was only used for APL. Also,
move the global-reset logic.

We leave some comments to remind us that a system_reset() should
be enough, where a full_reset() is called now (to retain current
behaviour) and looks suspicious.

Note, as no global_reset() is implemented for Denverton-NS, we halt
there now instead of issuing a non-global reset. This seems safer;
a non-global reset might result in a reset loop.

d44221f9c8 Move compiler.h to commonlib
Its spreading copies got out of sync. And as it is not a standard header
but used in commonlib code, it belongs into commonlib. While we are at
it, always include it via GCC's `-include` switch.

Some Windows and BSD quirk handling went into the util copies. We always
guard from redefinitions now to prevent further issues.

ef8b95745f src/*/intel/: clarify Kconfig options regarding IFD
HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE is used to enable certain options that rely on a valid
Inter Flash Descriptor to exist. It does *not* identify platforms or boards
that are capable of running in descriptor mode if it's valid.
Refine the help text to make this clear.

Introduce a new option INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE that does simply
declare that IFD is supported by the platform. Select this value everywhere
instead of the HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE and default HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE to
y if INTEL_DESCRIPTOR_MODE_CAPABLE is selected.

Move the QEMU Q35 special case (deselection of HAVE_INTEL_FIRMWARE) to
the mainboard directory.

15f232df08 chromeec platforms: Update ACPI thermal event handler call
Currently the thermal event handler method TEVT is defined as an extern,
then defined again in platforms with thermal event handling. In newer
versions of IASL, this generates an error, as the method is defined in
two places. Simply removing the extern causes the call to it to fail on
platforms where it isn't actually defined, so add a preprocessor define
where it's implemented, and only call the method on those platforms.

5d6ab45dbb soc/intel/braswell: add resource allocation for LPE BAR1
coreboot's PCI resource allocator doesn't assign BAR1 for
Braswell's LPE device because it doesn't exist, but is
required by Windows drivers for the device to function.

Manually add the required resource via the existing
lpe_read_resources function, and marked it as IORESOURCE_STORED
so pci_dev_set_resources ignores it.

TEST: boot Windows 10 on google/edgar, observe that memory resources
are properly assigned to LPE driver for BAR1 and no error reported.

0990fbf2d9 vboot: reset vbnv in cmos when cmos failure occurs
There's an occasional issue on machines which use CMOS for their
vbnv storage. The machine that just powers up from complete G3
would have had their RTC rail not held up. The contents of vbnv
in CMOS could pass the crc8 though the values could be bad. In
order to fix this introduce two functions:

1. vbnv_init_cmos()
2. vbnv_cmos_failed()

At the start of vboot the CMOS is queried for failure. If there
is a failure indicated then the vbnv data is restored from flash
backup or reset to known values when there is no flash backup.

5a1f9a87cb cpu/x86/mp_init: remove adjust_cpu_apic_entry()
The original purpose of adjust_cpu_apic_entry() was to set
up an APIC map. That map was effectively only used for mapping
*default* APIC id to CPU number in the SMM handler. The normal
AP startup path didn't need this mapping because it was whoever
won the race got the next cpu number. Instead of statically
calculating (and wrong) just initialize the default APIC id
map when the APs come online. Once the APs are online the SMM
handler is loaded and the mapping is utilized.

43dcbfd855 soc/braswell: fix ACPI table by recollecting TOLM
cherry-pick from Chromium, commit 8fbe1e7

On Braswell and Baytrail devices, by userland 'perf top',
observed demanding clocks on __vdso_clock_gettime() since
chromeos_3.18 kernel; besides, evaluated massive calling of
clock_gettime() cost, up to 700 ns in average.

It turns out that Linux kernel of map_vdso() first call of
remap_pfn_range() does not fall into reserve_pfn_range()
due to size parameter, instead it relies on lookup_memtype()
and potentially be failed to be identified as eligible RAM
resource because the function of pat_pagerange_is_ram() actually
walks through root's sibling.

Meanwhile, on current BSW (and BYT) firmware implementation
makes System RAM resources located on child leaf, combining all
of these factors makes the kernel treat the vvar page of vdso
as a uncached-minus one leading slow access in result.

This patch recollects TOLM accessing; as Aaron recalled some
core_msr_script turns off access to TOLM register, he suggests
to store tolm to avoid getting back a zero while setting acpi
nvs space.

1210b41283 vboot: Select SoC-specific configuration for all Chrome OS boards
Some Chrome OS boards previously didn't have a hardcoded vboot
configuration (e.g. STARTS_IN_BOOTBLOCK/_ROMSTAGE, SEPARATE_VERSTAGE,
etc.) selected from their SoC and mainboard Kconfig files, and instead
relied on the Chrome OS build system to pass in those options
separately. Since there is usually only one "best" vboot configuration
for a certain board and there is often board or SoC code specifically
written with that configuration in mind (e.g. memlayout), these options
should not be adjustable in menuconfig and instead always get selected
by board and SoC Makefiles (as opposed to some external build system).

(Removing MAINBOARD_HAS_CHROMEOS from Urara because vboot support for
Pistachio/MIPS was never finished. Trying to enable even post-romstage
vboot leads to weird compiler errors that I don't want to track down
now. Let's stop pretending this board has working Chrome OS support
because it never did.)

c2973d196d spi: Get rid of SPI_ATOMIC_SEQUENCING
SPI_ATOMIC_SEQUENCING was added to accomodate spi flash controllers with
the ability to perform tx and rx of flash command and response at the
same time. Instead of introducing this notion at SPI flash driver layer,
clean up the interface to SPI used by flash.

Flash uses a command-response kind of communication. Thus, even though
SPI is duplex, flash command needs to be sent out on SPI bus and then
flash response should be received on the bus. Some specialized x86
flash controllers are capable of handling command and response in a
single transaction.

In order to support all the varied cases:
1. Add spi_xfer_vector that takes as input a vector of SPI operations
and calls back into SPI controller driver to process these operations.
2. In order to accomodate flash command-response model, use two vectors
while calling into spi_xfer_vector -- one with dout set to
non-NULL(command) and other with din set to non-NULL(response).
3. For specialized SPI flash controllers combine two successive vectors
if the transactions look like a command-response pair.
4. Provide helper functions for common cases like supporting only 2
vectors at a time, supporting n vectors at a time, default vector
operation to cycle through all SPI op vectors one by one.

c28984d9ea spi: Clean up SPI flash driver interface
RW flag was added to spi_slave structure to get around a requirement on
some AMD flash controllers that need to group together all spi volatile
operations (write/erase). This rw flag is not a property or attribute of
the SPI slave or controller. Thus, instead of saving it in spi_slave
structure, clean up the SPI flash driver interface. This allows
chipsets/mainboards (that require volatile operations to be grouped) to
indicate beginning and end of such grouped operations.

New user APIs are added to allow users to perform probe, read, write,
erase, volatile group begin and end operations. Callbacks defined in
spi_flash structure are expected to be used only by the SPI flash
driver. Any chipset that requires grouping of volatile operations can
select the newly added Kconfig option SPI_FLASH_HAS_VOLATILE_GROUP and
define callbacks for chipset_volatile_group_{begin,end}.

spi_claim_bus/spi_release_bus calls have been removed from the SPI flash
chip drivers which end up calling do_spi_flash_cmd since it already has
required calls for claiming and releasing SPI bus before performing a
read/write operation.

8c09377dea timestamp: Remove HAS_PRECBMEM_TIMESTAMP_REGION Kconfig
This patch generalizes the approach previously used for ARM32

confusion when setting up future boards.

01be52eca9 soc/braswell/acpi/DPTF: Write TCHG state on AC connect.
DPTF should update the charger cooling device state during
boot time and every 3 seconds after boot. But 3 seconds polling
doesn't seems to be working with current version of DPTF.
This impacts charging since DPTF writes states 4 when charger
is not connected at boot time. On connecting the charger,
DPTF doesn't write 0 to enable charging. This issue is addressed
by calling the PPPC function to read cooling device state and passing
the value to SPPC to set cooling device state. This doesn't
compromise safety since DPTF can override this value
later based on the platform thermal condition. Also this provides
additional safety measure in the unlikely event that DPTF crashes
and is not re-spawned by OS. With this patch even after DPTF crashes,
if the power adapter is plugged it would still allow the system to
charge correctly.

f812c44f00 intel/braswell: Build in both C0 and 'other' vbios
The Braswell CPU seems to have two different Video BIOS roms, one for
the C0 revision, and one for other revisions. Build them both into
the coreboot image, and let coreboot sort out which one should be used
at runtime. This should allow one rom to be used for all revisions.

The initial reason for this patch was that the Kconfig symbol
C0_DISP_SUPPORT didn't exist, and was causing issues. This
seems like the best way to eliminate the need for that symbol.

e6af4be158 intel fsp1_1: prepare for romstage vboot verification split
In order to introduce a verstage which performs vboot
verification the cache-as-ram environment needs to be
generalized and split into pieces that can be utilized
in romstage and/or verstage. Therefore, the romstage
pieces were removed from the cache-as-ram specific pieces
that are generic:

- Add fsp/car.h to house the declarations for functions in
  the cache-as-ram environment
- Only have cache_as_ram_params which are isolated form the
  cache-as-ram environment aside from FSP_INFO_HEADER.
- Hardware requirements for console initialization is done
  in the cache-as-ram specific files.
- Provide after_raminit.S which can be included from a
romstage separated from cache-as-ram as well as one that
is tightly coupled to the cache-as-ram environment.
- Update the fallout from the API changes in
  soc/intel/{braswell,common,skylake}.

3a54318856 Add EM100 'hyper term' spi console support in ramstage & smm
The EM100Pro allows the debug console to be sent over the SPI bus.
This is not yet working in romstage due to the use of static variables
in the SPI driver code. It is also not working on chipsets that have
SPI write buffers of less than 10 characters due to the 9 byte
command/header length specified by the EM100 protocol.

While this currently works only with the EM100, it seems like it would
be useful on any logic analyzer with SPI debug - just filter on command
bytes of 0x11.

789f2b6c43 fsp1_1: provide binding to UEFI version
FSP has some unique attributes which makes integration
cumbersome:

1. FSP header files do not include the types they need. Like
EDKII development it's expected types are provided by the
build system. Therefore, one needs to include the proper
   files to avoid compilation issues.
2. An implementation of FSP for a chipset may use different
versions of the UEFI PI spec implementation. EDKII is a
proxy for all of UEFI specifications. In order to provide
flexibility one needs to binding a set of types and
structures from an UEFI PI implementation.
3. Each chipset FSP 1.1 implementation has a FspUpdVpd.h
file which defines it's own types. Commonality between
FSP chipset implementations are only named typedef
structs. The fields within are not consistent. And
because of FSP's insistence on typedefs it makes it
near impossible to forward declare structs.

The above 3 means one needs to include the correct UEFI
type bindings when working with FSP. The current
implementation had the SoC picking include paths in the
edk2 directory and using a bare <uefi_types.h> include.
Also, with the prior fsp_util.h implementation the SoC's
FSP FspUpdVpd.h header file was required since for providing
all the types at once (Generic FSP 1.1 and SoC types).

The binding has been changed in the following manner:
1. CONFIG_UEFI_2_4_BINDING option added which FSP 1.1
selects. No other bindings are currently available,
   but this provides the policy.
2. Based on CONFIG_UEFI_2_4_BINDING the proper include
paths are added to the CPPFLAGS_common.
3. SoC Makefile.inc does not bind UEFI types nor does
it adjust CPPFLAGS_common in any way.
4. Provide a include/fsp directory under fsp1_1 and
   expose src/drivers/intel/fsp1_1/include in the
include path. This split can allow a version 2,
for example, FSP to provide its own include files.
Yes, that means there needs to be consistency in
APIs, however that's not this patch.
5. Provide a way for code to differentiate the FSP spec
types (fsp/api.h) from the chipset FSP types
(fsp/soc_binding.h). This allows for code re-use that
doesn't need the chipset types to be defined such as
   the FSP relocation code.

3953e3947d x86: bootblock: remove linking and program flow from build system
The build system was previously determining the flow
and linking scripts bootblock code by the order of files
added to the bootblock_inc bootblock-y variables.Those
files were then concatenated together and built by a myriad of
make rules.

Now bootblock.S and bootblock.ld is added so that bootblock
can be built and linked using the default build rules.
CHIPSET_BOOTBLOCK_INCLUDE is introduced in order to allow the
chipset code to place include files in the path of the bootblock
program -- a replacement for the chipset_bootblock_inc
make variable.

f55e6680b9 microcode: Unify rules to add microcode to CBFS once again
Now that cbfstool supports file alignment, we can use the conveniently
available <filename>-align handler, and remove the need to have a
separate rule in src/Makefile.inc just for adding the microcode.

We can also get rid of the layering violation of having the
CONFIG_PLATFORM_USES_FSP1_0 symbol in a generic src/cpu/ makefile.
Note that we still have a layering violation by the use of the
CONFIG_CPU_MICROCODE_CBFS_LOC symbol, but this one is acceptable
for the time being.

fd016a44bb intel/braswell: allow dirty cache line evictions for SMRAM to stick
The BUNIT controls the policy for read/write access to physical
memory. For the SMRAM range the policy was not allowing dirty
evictions to the SMRAM when the core causing the eviction was not
in SMM mode. This could happen when the SMM handler dirtied a line
and then RSM'd back into non-SMM mode. The cache line was dirtied
while in SMM mode, but when that particular cache line was evicted
it would be silently dropped. Fix this by allowing the BUNIT to honor
writes to the SMRAM range while the evicting core is not in SMM mode.
The core SMRR msr provides the mechanism for disallowing general access
to the SMRAM region while it is not in SMM mode.

Aaron Durbin found that soc/common is already included as a subdir via
the wildcard in Makefile.inc:
  subdirs-y += $(wildcard src/soc/*/*)
Since the entire file is protected by CONFIG_SOC_INTEL_COMMON, there
is no problem with including it for every platform. On the other hand,
when it is included by the skylake and braswell makefiles, any rule is
duplicated. As a result fix the braswell and skylake makefiles.

c43d417039 intel/common: fix stage_cache_external_region()
The stage_cache_external_region() calculation is actually
dependennt on the properties of the chipset. The reason
is that certain regions within the SMRAM are used for
chipset-specific features. Therefore, provide an API
for abstracting the querying of subregions within
the SMRAM.

The 3 subregions introduced are:

SMM_SUBREGION_HANDLER - SMM handler area
SMM_SUBREGION_CACHE - SMM cache region
SMM_SUBREGION_CHIPSET - Chipset specific area.

The subregions can be queried using the newly
added smm_subregion() function.

Now stage_cache_external_region() uses smm_subregion()
to query the external stage cache in SMRAM, and this
patch also eliminates 2 separate implementations of
stage_cache_external_region() between romstage and
ramstage.

026e4dc3ff Kconfig: Move CBFS_SIZE into Mainboard menu
The CBFS size is really mainboard specific, since it really depends on
size of the chip on the mainboard, so it makes sense to have it in
the mainboard menu along with the ROM-chip size.

- Move the CBFS_SIZE definition up in src/kconfig
- Move the Mainboard Menu markers out of src/mainboard/kconfig into
src/Kconfig so CBFS_SIZE can live in the mainboard menu.
- Add a long list setting default values to do what the chipset
directories were previously defaulting the values to. This will
be trimmed down in a following patch that creates a common set of
IFD routines. (Who knew that kconfig supported line wrapping?)
- Update the help text.

Instead of having the chipset code make the approrpiate
calls at the appropriate places use the cbmem init hooks
to take the appropriate action. That way no chipset code
needs to be changed in order to support the external
stage cache.

899d13d0df cbfs: new API and better program loading
A new CBFS API is introduced to allow making CBFS access
easier for providing multiple CBFS sources. That is achieved
by decoupling the cbfs source from a CBFS file. A CBFS
source is described by a descriptor. It contains the necessary
properties for walking a CBFS to locate a file. The CBFS
file is then decoupled from the CBFS descriptor in that it's
no longer needed to access the contents of the file.

All of this is accomplished using the regions infrastructure
by repsenting CBFS sources and files as region_devices. Because
region_devices can be chained together forming subregions this
allows one to decouple a CBFS source from a file. This also allows
one to provide CBFS files that came from other sources for
payload and/or stage loading.

The program loading takes advantage of those very properties
by allowing multiple sources for locating a program. Because of
this we can reduce the overhead of loading programs because
it's all done in the common code paths. Only locating the
program is per source.
